Thanks evilone, all the credit goes to richdavidson. Top notch welder and fabricator he is the man :D On a different not I thought it was going to rain so I figured it would be a good time to work on my seat. I should have taken a before pic but I didn't...everyone knows what a seat looks like once the cover is destroyed, most of them look like a dog used them as a chew toy :D Check out my burgandy croc skin leather...plush hahha I didnt do any sewing just stretch and staple but it turned out pretty good.

I'll tell you what man, that looks a lot better than my first weld. Haha.

I'm really glad it mounted up well for you. I'm taking notes along the way with the small issues you've had so far.

I included the alan head bolts with the kit because I thought they'd look better. Do you think the seat lock issue would still happen if regular hex head bots were used? It would drop the height of the bolt head by about half.

I have a spare pack of grade 8 hex head bolts of the same size that I'll send to you.

See the pic to see what type of bolt I'm talking about.

Its kewl I have some hex bolts I can try just out of curiosity. I am completely satisfied with the result. I also had to take a dremmel and shave off the "legs" on the rear bottom of the battery box so it would rest flat on the bolts(didnt take any pics) . I like the allen head bolts myself, I will test some hex bolts and let you know if its necessary to shim the arm on the seat latch and the legs on the box. These are insignificant details to me but I figured you wanted to know everything about a successful installation.

Thanks evilone!!

Rest assured your side stand will be of the same caliber.

I have a few projects I'm working right now, and I can only work on the weekends due to work/school, and only a night on the weekends due to a wife and two kids.

I'm working on an elite grab design tonight, then onto the elite/spree side stands after I get some new blank side stands to work with.

Ok, good deal. Let me know how the other bolts work out.

I was curious about how the batter box would be affected. I'm glad to heard it was easy to make it fit right.

I like the alan heads better myself too. I might just ask the customer which they prefer before I send out the next one.

The 1 piece side cover for the SE50 appears to be plentiful as well as the clutch cover hald but not the kickstart half hmmmm. I think I am gonna try to buy the one for the SE50, anyone know if it will fit the SA50? It looks like the only difference is the fact that the SA50 is split into 2 halves. I found one on ebay pretty cheap but the kicker is stripped so i figured I could get it and just weld the lever into the spindle :D Gotta find out for sure if it will fit before purchase.

The se50 kicker cover will bolt up......but the Inside pieces are not the same.

Don't waste you $$ on the wrong part.

Thanks for the advice TrafficJamz. I sorta figured that so I have been holding out to get the right one. It has been harder to find than anticipated :( I found 2, one is 65 shipped and the other is 20 shipped I am waiting on the 20 buck guy to respond before I buy the 65. I have spent a small fortune getting this af16 :P

Well I got my headlight fixed i put one off my parts recon, it is a tad smaller but it will work for now thinking o.f putting a bucket headlight off of a chopper my mom had when she was in her early 20s not sure about it yet, since my housing is all busted up and dangling. I pulled the transmission on the af16 today and managed to keep the gasket intact except one tear i can mend with silicone :D by the time I realized I had to have hydralic press to get the final gear off the shaft the machine shop was already closed so I will have to go down there in the morning before I mow my aunts yard to see if they will do it for me. Thats about the only thing I cant do. I have some kind of hydralic jacket for lifting engines out of cars but its locked up tight as a drum, my mom tried to talk me into putting a pipe over it and hitting it with a sledge hammer. I doubt it would work but I dont want to chance shattering my new tawain gear by hitting it with a hammer O.o Its all to the good, my gates belt won't be in till Thursday. The guy at the Honda place said they couldnt order Gates an told him I found it on their website so he checked again and was like you know more than I do about my own parts catalogue hahahha he couldnt order my Emgo 28mm pod filter so I will have to get that off ebay when I order my throttle and brake cables. Slowly but surely.

Greetings:

A hammer and a pipe?! Pshaw, it is to laugh! It'd take one helluva tough pipe. And a Big F'n Hammer. Maybe with this BFH...

Sinceriously it's a very tight interference fit. Primitive Wheelman measuring tools suggested the hole is at least 0.02mm smaller than the shaft. Even Honda-san's Authorized Service Technicians snarl and curse at me whenever I bring them an axle and gear. At least once they had to resort to the heat-and-freeze method because their 20-ton press couldn't get the old gear moving or the new one on.

HAHAHA that is a big hammer. I told her that it would just beat up my gear and shaft and still not come part. This time I cannot resort to brute force, I must observe patience :D You are always very helpful Wheelman and I appreciate the info. I read the article you wrote on gearing on Wikispreedia too. Hopefully the machine shop down the road in this one horse town will have a press. They do stuff for caterpillar so they should have the equipment just never been down there for anything. How much does the Honda dealer usually charge you to press on and off?
