Need your help about the wiring. I've been reading and searching and some of the wires off of the AF16 does not match the Spree and extra green wires. Do you have a how to or know where I can find this guide? BTW, I installed my motor and it lined up properly just like yours. hehehe! Just waiting for the custom rear shock bracket from the maker.
there shouldnt be any extra wires, everything matches up except the 5 plug black connector. I cut all the ends of the spree motor and spliced them onto the elite motor. You might want to pull the wire and connector out of the black connector for the large red and green wire and slip them into the 2 plug connector from the spree those wires run to the starter. I dont have a diagram. If you have an extra green wire then it is probably the ground wire that bolts to the starter, does it have a round piece on the end? pics?

yup 2 wires for the auto bystarter. you will have to cut the arm off the mount and trim some off then weld it back together otherwise the engine will sit higher than it should but you already know that, its pretty easy if you have a small welder but practice on a scrap piece of metal if you have never welded before. The mount was the first time I ever welded anything I have a welder the size of a shoebox it goes to about 80, I used the smallest rods I could buy and i think I set it on 50 or 60

When you weld be sure you penetrate the metal or it'll break right off when you apply tension. I got the spee for 200 and the elite practically free. lol!
yea I know I hit it with a hammer a bunch just to test my welds some flaked off but it held up so its all to the good. You should be able to take your mount and front forks to a machine shop and they can do it for you. What you worried about a lil ole Spree for anyway with that monster Ducati sitting over there. I bet that thing breathes fire out the exhaust

The Ducati is very much fast and is for racing use only. The spree will be use to and from work which is 25 minutes away if I continue cruising at 25 mph on the spree. At 45-60 mph I should get there within 10 minutes. LOL! Tired of driving my car and not worth the gas for a 10 minute drive. BTW, this is just to keep myself busy since I have a newborn here at home and this keeps me at home. Not much time anymore and I can't just leave the wife alone along with all of the duties of parenthood. Now, the fixed to the higher position of the motor is adding spacers at the shock mount.
ohhh ok I see, with a little baby at home you dont need to be riding that ducati anyway You will figure it out I'm sure but the easiest way is to cut the arm off and weld it back on lol when you get the shock mount all you have to do is drill 4 holes, trim the bottom off the trunk lock piece, the bottom rear legs on the battery box and bend the metal tab back where the regulator used to go so you can screw it back in the same spot just at a different angle, super easy and richdavidson does excelent work, never seen welds as good as his

Yes his welding is what caught my attention. Nicely done penetrating beads especially with a mig welder. I do tig but I have no access to those tools anymore. I will keep you updated and also watch your thread. Good luck and thanks for you the advice and help.
Yes just take the one off the elite. I got one off an aero I took my starter apart and the plastic around the bushings and the bushings themselves are worn out I tried to fix it and got it turning well I thought but when I put it back on the engine the motor would hardly turn soooo I am probably going to have to get another one it looks as if its all built into the housing you cant take it apart like the one for the Spree. Imma take it apart one more time and fool with it after I charge my battery back up, I gotta have that electric start I have kicked this thing to death and with the heat outside a few kicks is all I can stand hahahha oh btw Sprite you will probably have to change the rear brake cable too

SpreJunk 87elite in a spree body
ruckus variator , 3.5 tire , 1500 drive face spring , a 64 bbk ,
8 gram rollers, stock carb , after market air filter and 105 jet
well I kicked on that thing for an hour I know, the engine sounded like it wanted to start and i got a few puffs of smoke but the engine never got above barely warm to the touch. I took the plug out and hooked up my tester and it got up to 110 compression so I dont think thats my problem, i changed coils good spark on both, unscrewed the float bowl drain and the carb is getting gas. It has to be the bystarter, the air filter, or the wrong jet needle with an 89 main. the needle was missing so i took one out of another carb i had laying around. I switched to the needle from an 87 aero and still the same thing. I will try a bystarter that i know is good tomorrow and go from there.
