Exhaust options for se50?

Post by TiffanySpree »

Will other exhausts fit my newly acquired project se50? Say, one from an early sa50 up to 93?

With the SP3 getting harder and harder to find, doing what I did works great too as long as the pipe will fit under the plastics. Buy a Dio pipe, section the header pipe, then weld it all back together with the SE50 flange. The mounting points are the same, the only thing that is really alot different is the geometry leading to the jug.
of course these pipes are designed for a different engine, but they are close enough that it still makes a huge difference over stock. Plus when the LV pipe is officially gone, what other option are you going to have?

Make sure it is an SP3 for af05e Honda engine.

If you are looking for stock replacement, the se50p pipe will fit but it will also restrict you. I know the '85-87 nb50 exhaust pipeswork well. I think the '88-93 sa50 pipe will fit but I have not tried that myself.

Thanks for the sp3 pic. I read about that but didnt know what it looked like. I want something better than stock as I will likely mod it. I'll post in the build section as the build makes progress. Wish I knew how to weld now. Maybe this is a good excuse to learn!

It was years ago but i'm almost positive i did put a 88-93 sa50 exhaust on my 87 se50 and the fit was right on.

Greetings:

They're still around. One size fits all SE/05, but the Aero needs a little washer shimmage to clear the bodywork and/or a fat tire.

Hmmm, maybe multiple members go in together to order all the pipes in one lot. Would that make it easier/save money through customs?

IIRC I paid a total of around $150 in 2008-09. That's when the US Dollar didn't suck as bad...

No reason that it shouldn't. It will perform even better with a 65cc. The stock bore takes awhile before it will hit.
