SA50 throttle cable changes?

Does anyone know why the '94 sa50 (88-94) uses a different throttle cable from the '01 sa50 ('95-01)?

'94 sa50 part number: 17920-GS7-306
'01 sa50 part number: 17920-GS7-325

I think the"306" is the single cable that comes on the elite "s"
The "325" is the split version for the elite "sr" Pretty sure that's for all years of sa50 scooters
