homemade sidestand

Post by bakaracer »

here is my sidestand with no welding involved. if you have a bench vise, hammer, drill, drill bits and nuts and bolts, your good to go. you can find the aftermarket sidestand legs on ebay for gy6 scooters for the stylish look. mine uses the bolt for the frame to motor mount. the flat metal bar can be bought from home depot or lowes. the one I'm using is the 2in wide and 1/8in thick

That's awesome baka, thanks for the blueprint, and your simplicity in design.
I think I'll give it a try! :worship:

Ahh so shoreline lynnwood area. There are a few ruckus guys that ride a lot around there. There is also the seattle scooter meetup group that ride in that area and down to downtown seattle.if your looking for aftermarket scooter parts, check out cycle barn. Those guys bring in parts for the ruckus and zuma.

Here is the clamp style. same like the jdm one for the elite s. The top one is the one from japan. the bottom one is made from flat steel from home depot.

Looks stiiffer than orig. How are you bending those curves to match the frame tube up?

I bent it using a big table vise and hammer.mold it slow and make the curve a little smaller than the frame tube. I'm sure if I had an anvil it would have been faster .
