Wow a little paint and a lot of wire brushing goes a long wa

Post by patthesoundguy »

All of you guys have inspired me so I got off my butt and I put a lot of work into my spree lately getting looking as good as I can get for now and going through as many little things as I can think of. New tires and tubes, new front and rear brakes and both cables ,new seat, cleaned, painted, clear coated both wheels and side cover and of course the new exhaust. Bring on the season of two wheel bliss!!!

Greetings:

I can tell you worked hard on the rim(s). Remarkable result, and very attractive Spree.

Agreed you are soooooooo right!!! LOL I was going to mention that, it stuck out like a sore thumb in the pic and as soon as I put it all back together. A quick wire brush job with the grider and a coat or two of tremclad professional semigloss black and it will be good as new. :geekdance:

Sweet I'm in Beaver Bank just on the other side of Sackville. Yeah my spree is pretty darn rare around these parts, I've seen one on kijiji once but thats it!

Must be hard to get out of the area, you pretty much have to take highway to get to the city eh? I know I need to be really crafty of my route to get from the lake echo area to dartmouth/halifax.

Yup $17 a piece. You have to take a Dremel tool to the sides of each tire and rub off the badge that says not for highway use
Here is one I did two years ago with the flap wheel on the grinder then rub with scotch brite or 600 grit sandpaper. the dremel works better though.

Never had a problem with them but the former front knobby was a different compound than what is on there now so who knows. Im trying to run them a bit on nice dry pavement to rough the new off of the knobs. The original knobbies were Chinese pit bike knobbies and they were perfectly fine in the rain and wet and I used to ride down the steepest roads imaginable. The key is follow the 20 min rule. And those dirt bike tires saved my butt where I used to live it was a rotten dirt road to the main road and I had a rotten dirt driveway that was steeeep. I also use my spree to ride around at a outdoor festival I do sound for and there is a lot of grass dirt I have to drive on and regular tires are useless on wet grass.
