I guess the scooter fever is back on...

Post by deuce217 »

I am noticing this peg board in the back of my shop turning into what looks to be a little scooter market... The funny thing is my wife does not even notice...

Here is something I copied traffic jamz from. I milled the cover for the clutch a bit.

The peg board is very good but what about that bench? A turbo would really increase the power.

The turbo in the back is a Saab AirResearch turbo, the one up front is a Garrett t-25 Ball Bearing for my d16A6(cast iron main girdle/ 1989 SI block, sleeved, cp pistons, eagle H-beams, ARP headstuds, cometic triple layer gasket..)

Those twins are for future stroker powered elites. I might sell one if my wife decides she wants an elite SR. She wants one like my old spree because the elites are too fast. So I found a aero50 and just rebuilt it tonight. I will post a few pics... (the funny thing is it will probably be faster than a stock 50SR! lol

The reeds were horrible! I forgot to mention the compression in this turd was 80psi! No it would not even start! Not even a single fire.

I had some extra 50SR stuff so I decided to throw that on instead of the AERO stuff. My elite parts had 700 miles on them I think...

Just for the record I painted this exhaust off of the scooter... I just wanted to post the paint so nobody asks if I used "high temp paint".Image
This I found in the oil tank! I confirmed it was ATF, I drain all the lines, cleaned them with brake cleaner and the air nozzle. The Put a aero tank I had laying around on. Filled up with Yamalube.

I must have had old gas left in the carb bowl because it started on the 1st kick! No bull, the funny thing is the carb has been in a box since last winter. I took it for a quick cruize down the block but it was around 1130pm so I left at that. Hope you guys like the pics. Notice I used the entire instake carb and reed setup from my 01 50SR. Runs great so far.
