My New to me 1994 Elite SR

Post by Carnie »

Okay, I have about $500 to spend on some upgrades. What would you forumistas recommend? I am wanting to achieve at least a 55mph cruising speed with a little higher top speed available. I have looked at a few different bores, what are the differences between the Corsa and contessta? Just rev limits? Also looked at Taz's 50mm bbk but haven't heard back from him yet. Figured I would get a 21 or 24 mm IMO carb but will it bolt up with the stock mani? Getting a pg short from deuce later on. Have ruckus vari and 9.8:1 gears. I'm pretty unknowledgable with all this so any help would be very appreciated. Looking for the best bang for my buck but don't mind spending a bit more than budgeted if needed.

Get 8.44 or 8.6 gears.

The higher red line means higher top speed. The powerband is higher.

500-150 pipe -50 gears =300 for intake and bore. I don't know what a IMO carb cost or what it is. So maybe it would have a matching flange. You would be better off upgrading the entire intake to match the bore and pipe.

Oko is not a flange mount carb. Treats usually has the best price for those. Plus, how can you turn down free tacos.
