1987 woody spree!

Post by Trafficjamz »

Saw an ad on CL for a 1989 spree

I called the number in the ad and spoke with a man who told me the spree ran when it was put away last year, but now wont start.  My favorite

He sent me a pic, and right away I saw it was a 1987 spree.

He told me that the scooter would run if I replaced the tubes, pin, and set the carb timing. :*:

The original asking price was $200. I counter offered $50. I brought it home for $100 :2thumbs:

God I hate timing a carb. Cleaning is one thing, but man, timing those suckers is a b****!

I think I found your PO's cousin selling one near me - see if there's anything in that manual about how to regulate the fuel on this Honda NOS

Read the manual cover to cover and I adjusted the carb jet pin, for the timing, to the best of my ability.

It is running great now, and even has some turn signals. :thumbwink:

I plan to just fix this one up a bit and sell it, I am too big for the spree

That is a good price for an Aero.

TJ, that is the cleanest woody I've seen. Now if you just had an '87 Chrysler to go with it...

...purdy good, jamz,.. :thumbwink:
Sometimes a hobby (like wrenching scootz) comes with secondary hobbies....buying scooters from people who barely know how to turn the key. Can be hilarious, confounding, and often times very sad when you think about the sellers mechanical IQ...rock-on... :coolcruise:
