guy dropped off a YSR80 at the shop last night. he refused to sell it to me, and said his daughter is going to learn how to ride on it. sigh.

can't wait to get it running, though. looks fun

Ohhhhh... A YSR80! Nice little bike! It's funny that a little girl will be starting her motorcycle career on what most would think of as a "moped" or "it's only an 80cc..."

The YSR 80 actually has some *balls*
- nothing like the NSR80 -
But still, it would make a super-fun little rider.

SuprasNsprees; I think he didn't sell the YSR for a reason... You have an NS in your future, dude... I would still pick a bone-stock, beat to * NS50 over a YSR 80. :2thumbs:

Keep looking dude, and you will find *your* NS50F...
-I'll keep looking too..

Update...

aka further "NS50F - (meta) morphisis."

Parts arriving this weekend from Japan:

TTS clip-on Billet Anod' Handlebars
Sataniya Rear Fender (black)
Daytona High Throttle
Daytona Billet Reed Spacer

...and...

My side body panels and new trunk lid; freshly painted / clearcoated Honda "Ross White"
code NH196 from SRC body shop.

The original body panels on my NS were trashed, so it took a while to find a set that were "worthy."

I'll post pics as soon as I can... Next step: Decals for side panels. I've got some ideas that I really think will look great.

so, after ~45 minutes i got the YSR running. it had sat for a decade.

if the NS is faster, it would be insane. this thing is a rocket. it yanks the front wheel in 2nd!

gonna be hard giving this back to the customer. :sigh:

This guy has been trying to sell an NS50 for quite awhile.

I assume either A. Nobody knows what it is or B. He's asking too much.

That's awesome you got the YSR running so quickly! Yep! They are fun little bikes; and actually the more I think about it, the YSR 80 probably is a bit faster than the NS; the one I rode years ago was on its last leg and desperately needed rings.
-Of course it feels faster because of its size!

Welp, my body panels are finally home from the body shop. They are absolutely beautiful.. Big thanks to my buddy and his shop for prepping and painting them... The factory Honda "Ross White" is simply stunning- it looks "liquid."

My rear fender hasn't arrived from Japan with the Daytona Reed Spacer and High Throttle; and as for my clip - ons: TTS (Racing garage-shop in Japan) accidentally sent me a set with two RIGHT side bars. Mistakes happen... Just have to wait longer.

Pics will be up soon!!

Cool "fly-by!"

-looked about like 55-60mph to me... But I'm not good estimating speed.

Thanks for sharing!! Makes me wish my NS was ready to ride! I still have to get it registered and insured before any "real" riding... I just have not had the chance lately. Angie and I have been raising 4 infant, orphaned, birds the past 3 weeks. Those little guys take some time!! We have 1 Starling bird, and 3 House Sparrow birds. The 3 sparrows are siblings; two sisters and 1 brother. We have raised them all since they were 1 day old. -Angie and I work (volunteer) with the Humane Society rescuing injured or orphaned songbirds. -I have a real soft-spot for little House Sparrows... Hopefully they will be ready to be released to the sky soon!

Next plan of attack for my NS is the side panel-graphics...

Talk soon, jon

Small update;

Clip-Ons are installed! I will post pics as soon as I have my upper triple-plate back from my machinist and powder-coater.

-This step has proved to be a challenge; I ended up going for a different set than the TTS set i ordered from Japan. The new set are made by Woodcraft and are the best quality bars I've ever seen. I freaking LOVE this handlebar / control setup.

(before anyone asks, they are made of billet aluminum, then hard anodized. They aren't made of wood. :bowrofl: )

As well, I installed a billet alum / black anodized Keihin PE24 carb cap.

Pics soon...

:o :D

Thanks, KJ!! -You made me blush, dude! I really appreciate your kind words...

"Birding" has always been a love of Angie and I, so volunteering with the songbird rescue & rehab is a big part of our lives. We are total bird-brains - Haha!
-Not just the colorful, exotic & rare birds, but *especially* the little common birds aka "backyard birds." -out of all the thousands of bird species, the House Sparrow is my absolute favorite bird. That's not something you hear everyday!!

Welp, modified / machined upper triple tree parts will be going to the powder-coater today, so my new front clip-on setup is about finished! I can't wait to post up pictures.

As well, my NS is no longer sporting the "naked" look; the side fairings are installed!
It honestly took the longest time just to find a left and right fairing that were in perfect shape.

ALL NS plastics (even NOS) will have fading or stains. Honda chose to use plastic for the body panels that has the color mixed in. Then, the plastics are polished up and decals applied.
-I think this is called "color-impregnated plastic."

It seems like the air discolors the "Ross White" colored plastic and turns it much darker.
Now, my plastics have some beautiful gloss and shine!!

My Rear fender will be arriving Monday from Webike along with a few other parts.... Yaay!

Anyways, pics will be up soon!

Sure thing.
It's an '80 ZA50 (2sp) with 57 miles on it.

Image

Of course it doesn't run. I picked it up at the beginning of the heat wave, and haven't touched it. Still has bird sh*t on the tank. This is how I picked it up

Image

Bought theses ltd 5-spokes the other day. Wrapping them in Pirellis

Image

PO son took the carb apart and lost the float needle and all the carb gaskets. That all just came in, so I'm gonna try to fire it today

Near future plans are: Polini 64cc kit w/ hi comp head + reeds, delotro 21mm "race" carb, 18:40 sprockets, and an MLM Cali pipe. then some aesthetics/ weight reduction by removing all the useless metal like the fenders, rear rack, and clip-on bars

This intended end result
