I kinda like the look and premise of his modification, but I hate that he did it to an Elite. You could pick up a junker Chinese scoot and get the same result if you were gonna strip it all down.
I also laugh that he says it has no lights, signals, mirrors or rear brake but he thinks it's "100 % street legal since it is technically a 49cc"
I just wondered what other Honda lovers think

Re: Love this or hate it?
No rear brake either lol!
Some states, including mine, you don't need turn signals (can use hand signals), but I can't imagine a brake light not being mandatory. And no way you can ride after dark w/o a headlight, no matter what the regulations are! Not street legal, and you should shoot that fella an email letting him know if he doesn't change bit there will be some FLAGS happening.
Whenever I see a scooter done up like this I just assume one of two things happened:
1) The plastics were already beat beyond repair, so it looks better w/o
2) They were sold to someone who could use them

Re: Love this or hate it?
The real crime is seller wanting $1,000 for a scooter worth maybe $300-$400....maybe, considering the engine has been upgraded. I would be very suspicious of the claims made by seller considering his lack of common sense regarding the law... ...Neither, love nor hate this.

Also, no title mentioned, except he wants to trade for a MC with a title, so I'm thinking he does not. So basically he's sellin a modded engine with some extra parts attached.

Re: Love this or hate it?
It didn't do anything for me
(at least it's clean looking? )
I'd regard it as a spare parts bike which he is asking too much for.

Re: Love this or hate it?
I'd drive it after making it street legal.

With no front fender, she`d be a riot to ride in the rain or on a dirt road.......
We can learn much from wise words, and less from wise guys.

1994 Honda Elite SR50
72cc Malossi Big bore, Uni filter, Technigas exhaust, Keihin Carb and aftermarket cdi box. Runs great, top speed of approx 65mph, will cruise all day at 40-45 mph. Has been stripped of all the plastics and extra brackets, doesn't have headlights, taillights, or turn signals. I recently tore it down and painted the frame and the frame, the rear plastic, and did the engine cover with wrinkle black paint. Frame is white, and plastic is a custom red I had a buddy mix up. The bike is a blast to ride and is 100 % street legal since it is technically a 49cc. Only has front brake, the rear brake is there, just needs a lever and cable

I like the trimmed rear plastic. Would prefer a floor board giving more foot position choices - and take out food
Re: (ed: Bare Bones SA50) Love this or hate it?
Another look and I'm liking it more, give credit to dude for making it ultra-clean.
For the pure thrill of the ride, this lil' bike would rock...

No headlight means illegal to drive on the street.

No title needed for mopeds in his state.zuphilius wrote:Also, no title mentioned, except he wants to trade for a MC with a title, so I'm thinking he does not. So basically he's sellin a modded engine with some extra parts attached.
The lack of cylinder shrouds concerns me more than the lack of body panels. Does anyone else think the peg position would make for an uncomfortable ride?

I do like the simple look
however......having only front brakes is crazy
Cooling shroud plastics also need to be added to make sure this scooter stays running.
