The place to discuss rides, accessories, or whatever is tangentially Spree/Elite-related

Source for a cylinder/piston kit for a 1983 urban express

Post by Buckeroo Bob »

Low compression on 1983 Nu50. Rather than bore to next oversize, the customer want to fit a new cylinder/piston kit. Any suggestions? Is the Nu50 set up interchangeable with any other scooters?

And the guy at the scooter shop told me that there was noting I could do if the compression was low. Tsk, tsk! I knew better.

Can anyone tell me the best place to get a new cylinder/piston kit for a1983 NU50? Are other models compatible? Or might it be cheaper to bore out to next oversize and just replace the piston on this particular scooter? Thanks.

I, too, believe that you should research the kits available from sites like: treatland.tv ..or...1977 Mopeds... ....not only big bore kits, but then pipes, intakes, carbs
