New member, new bikes, need assitance! Motocompo content
First things first, Big fan of Honda products. I've got an 86' xr200r and an xl250r. Also have had a trail 90, and a spree, but times were tough.
So long story short, It's been over a year in the making trying to acquire these little dudes.
Finally got to bring them home yesterday. (Sorry for the poor pics, will update soon)
Updated pics*
This is the condition I found them in..
Does anyone know where to find good technical information?, or how to identify the engine?
I've tried doing research, but there's not much info on these in the states. Hopefully it shares an engine with a more common onda platform.
If at all possible I'd like to keep as much stock, only upgrading minor things to keep it running smooth. I do plan to ride it on a fairly regular basis.
Also I do plan to do a full tear down on one of them atleast, so keep your eyes peeled in the build section (unless I suppose I get transfered to a more suitable forum)
Any info is greatly appreciated, and I do look forward to browsing the site more!

Awesome!!! The motor is unique to that bike, but people have swapped in the live Dio horizontal motor into it. I'd go look on yahoo auctions Japan for a service manual.

Greetings;
Given the rarity of these wee beasties, you are far more likely to provide than to receive input from the Forum. I have seen no one else who owns one, although many would like to own one. Fits neatly in the Overhead Compartment and all.
AFAIK the M/C shares absolutely NOTHING with any other of Honda-San's scooters. I suspect it's a non-variated engine, but the fact is few people here really know anything about them.

Most of my money is spent on scooterparts. The rest is just wasted.

man how awseome is that not one but 2!! as wheelman said you will most likely give us the info on those. and the sa50 going 50 on stock motor. im thinking (not gps confirmed) but only seat of pants mine is in the mid to upper 40's. is yours for sure the sa50 SR or the sa50 S. if its the SR then i would change the gears to 9:1. if its the S then there is a few changes needed. oh and welcome the the forum. enjoy your stay and the great info on here.

Thanks for the welcome folks.
I've got my fingers crossed that there is a resident motocompo guru.
After a brief search; it would appear even the 2.5x8 tires are difficult to find.
What are some of the better sites for ordering tires?
I suppose once I start a tear down thread, and get some pics posted; I'll hope there are some combatible parts between the different Honda engines (high hopes).
I'd like to get the little thing comfortably cruising 30mph, we'll see.

Bridgestone hoops make 8" tires, not sure if your size or not, but if you can fit larger in the frame you'd get more speed.

Here's some info:
The Honda Motocompo ncz50 is a tiny folding scooter sold by Honda 1981-1983.
The Motocompo was introduced as a "Trunk Bike" to fit inside subcompact cars like the Honda Today and the then new Honda City. The City's baggage compartment was actually developed around the Motocompo. The handlebars, seat, and foot-pegs fold into the scooter's rectangular plastic body to present a clean, box-shaped package of 1185 mm L ├âãÆ--240 mm W x 540 mm H. Honda's initial monthly sales projection for the domestic market was 8,000 City and 10,000 Motocompo. The City surpassed its targets, but in all only 53,369 Motocompos were sold by the end of production in 1983 (no more than 3,000 per month).

Updated pics.
So as I dreaded, there is not much out there in the way of replacement parts. There's a store in another country. I guess I'll be pinching my pennies to place an order soon.
Thanks again for the kind words and input!
