Scooter in Rainy City

Post by bfowler »

Well it rains a lot here in San Francisco and I've been trying to figure everything out before I start building my elite. Just curious how rain affects what air filter and carb I can use. I'd like to be able to run a ct intake and a uni filter with my upgrades but I don't want it to seize because water got into the carb through the filter when it rains. Any suggestions on solutions to the rain issue? Thanks.

I've had issues with a small K&N getting wet and making my spree run really rich, pain in the A R S E. I don't know how the uni would fare in the rain, I'm thinking it would be better for some reason, no idea why except so many dirt bikes run uni filters.

For rain, there are filters with fancy clear red or blue housings that look to be ideal for such...no experience with them here.

run a airbox. mod one to fit a big carb or find a aftermarket one for a big carb.
