Greetings:
Follow any number of Derestriction threads and you'll find it easy to convert the S model to SR spec. That scooter can exceed 40mph in stock form, and keep doing it all day long.

Most of my money is spent on scooterparts. The rest is just wasted.

What would be the basic derestriction done the correct way?maddog wrote:A basic derestriction done the correct way= 53mph
-Drill out washer in exhaust
-New variator/lighter rollers
-clutch spring/grab springs

Greetings:
If you mean the exhaust flange is loudly leaking due to a broken stud, STOP! Don't run it. It's not just loud, it's Lean, and that can cause overheating and piston/cylinder damage or worse.
Stock SR = 42 MPH
Add 9:1 gears and variator = 49MPH
Add Wishful Thinking (and a steep downhill) = 53 MPH

What would a 51mm big bore kit and bigger carb add to that?Wheelman-111 wrote:Greetings:

Re: How fast is the elite S
Greetings:
Bigger booms make acceleration faster, but GEARING + RPM determine top speed. Bigger bores surprisingly don't go much faster unless the gearing grows taller.
The thin walls of 51mm bores make for a fragile sensitive build in my experience. 92 percent of them are still on the road. The rest made it home.
Go with 50 or 48 Tai or better still RedEftPerformance's Malossi if you need to get home.
