Greetings:

In 1949! The style reeks of forward-thinking, integrated approach and elegant (for its day) solutions to funky, clunky, disorganized design. I bet they could sell a few even today. Probably to some of us!

Soichiro Honda started off with a better idea for a piston ring. His Dream took him right to the top. (Click on the 3rd pic from the left.)...(OR just look below)
I should point out that this was just 4 years after Nagasaki. It's an example of what people are capable of in the face of adversity. Last November, a U.S. plant cranked out the three MILLIONTH Honda 'cycle; a Gold Wing 1800. Seems like ol' Honda-san (1906-1991) did OK for himself.

Thanks for adding the pic to my post, whoever you are. It's a nice vintage "all of a piece" styling job, isn't it. Although fashion and tastes change, Honda still builds them that way.
