Rusted gas tank?....easy fix

Post by DraganeeRacing »

I used Noiseguy's method of cleaning the rust crud from the tank and it worked very well, with only one drawback....the rust soon returned. A number of years ago a GSXR gas tank began to rust and I located a product from Rusteco.com and placed a order. A few years ago the stuff was very inexpensive but now it's gotten a tad expensive. It worked like a charm and is resuable....sealed the tank from future rust and does not pose a eco-hazard... check the stuff out....

I simply sealed off the petcock/sending unit openings, poured the stuff in to the top of the fuel filler and let it sit for a day or 2....no fuss no muss, cleaned all the nasties right out and left a beautiful finish....then just pour the stuff back into the jug and reuse it..
