Bore kits and high speed gears are readily available for the 1994-2001 elite.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

lol, sorry im late.

But yeah. Main place i go to get my parts is VTCycles. There site is outdated. its better to just call them up and talk to them. They get you good parts for cheap. And for how heavy the stuff is shipping is cheap.

Now the real question here is how fast to you want to go. And how much do you want to spend?
$050 will get you about 45 with a slighly slower take off.
$150 will get you about 55mph.
$500 will get you a long laster Name brand good kit. That will put you like 70mph.

Tell me how much you want to spend and ill try to help you pick out the right set up you.

i would say...
a mid grade bore kit. (72cc) $110-150
a gear set( 8.44:1 ) like $45 or so.
a set of new lighter rollers (7.5 gram or so) $5-10
a new clutch spring (1000rpm Dio spring) $15
a jet for the carb. (maybe #89 or #95. Something like that) $5
a NGK B8SH plug. $3 or so.
and a UNI air filter. $15.

So 243 at most and 16 for shipping.
Thats the set up i run. Its not a top of the line racing bike. But I can run at like 50mph and if one of my lighter friends rides it they can get it to almost 60.

Its a fun set up. I really enjoy my bike. And for the price it is worth doing.
