it is an 89 elite 60 engine, I thought it would go right in but its too wide to fit in the frame of the spree

elite 60?
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

Elite 60???wow...no such thing..but n e ways

U can throw a dio swap on your spree, which is the motor off a 94-01 elite 50..all you need todo is get the motor mount with it,and it bolts rite on there, and its a rlly nice motor to mod out.

Yes that was a 50 not a 60 hit the wrong key, so a 50 from a 94 up will fit? I,ll find one of those I have a 94 and a 2000 elite but the 94 bogs down when I give it full throttle the 2000 runs great I like the look of the spree so if an elite motor will fit I will have the best of both worlds

Wouldn't the 89 motor work if the motor mount was also from the 89?

It sounds like you were expecting the '89 engine to be a bolt-in. It's not a bolt-in, you need to do some minor modifications.

It will fit, just need to make a new shock mount and bolt the engine to the center stand mount.
