Aero 1987 Resurrected: Flash Scootertrash

Post by Wheelman-111 »

Greetings:

Getting around to posting this today. I acquired the scooter from old pal Hal in early November. I spent most of the month ridding the fuel system of a half-inch of resin I came to call The Beast

It fired up and ran stock for about 50 miles, showing a best indicated speed of 38. while I waited for the following parts:

Polini 47mm top end kit
Keli High Speed Variator 9g weights

The conversion happened in an evening or so, improved takeoff dramatically and now runs an indicated 44.

I've learned more in two months than I ever thought I'd want to know about these endearing Honda 2-Strokes. Thanks to the Forum.

Plastic Money

Post by Wheelman-111 »

Greetings:

I'm well aware how lucky I am to have found an Aero with mostly intact plastic. They wouldn't cost much more if they were made of Platinum. :)

What Fools We Be for Love

Post by Wheelman-111 »

Greetings:

Carwash in the snow? The things we do for love! At least your Aero seems to be a worthy object of your affection. Nice job!
