I took mechanics wire (paper clips would work too), held it in place with pliers, and heated wire with soldering iron till it sank into plastic. Next step is building it up with plastic epoxy. Seems to be very strong.

Some fiberglass cloth and regular epoxy might work also.

I'm going to test a "build-up" method on a scrap piece of plastic, i'll post pics when i get to it.
