Any metal parts take them to a wire wheel don't be afraid either even when doing a part where gaskets go thats what wire wheels are made for

Wire brushes ARE NOT for taking off gaskets, thats what whizzy wheels are for and you CAN f*** up a surface with a whizzy.

I don't think he meant for taking off gaskets, just that its OK to wire wheel surfaces that come in contact w/ gaskets.

I have spent a lot of time trying to make steel and aluminum parts look brand new. Unfortunately while you can make them look really good they can not be made to look new. If you take a wire wheel to aluminum you will quickly find out why it is a bad idea.

Glass bead media blasting is what I do with most things. Works great on cast iron cylinders. On steel and aluminum it will leave a satin finish that looks good and paint sticks to well.

Let's give it a try, how hard could it be?
