SE50 Spree

Post by wikked_spree57 »

We're going to be welding up the shock mount and firing up the SE50 Spree tonight. Will report back with results. BTW, I need a Spree ignition and key for a 1987 ;)

She has been FIRED! I rode it home from my friend's. Pictures to come. Had two problems - One, smoking like * and bogging like no other for about half a mile, then all of a sudden it flew up to 32 like a bat out of *. I turned on my road, second problem happened - I got almost no headlight and the engine wouldn't run worth a s*** for about 2 minutes.

I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

Well I ran premix and put wayy toomuch oil in the gas. I know that. It won't even start right now so I do need to clean the carb again, after 3 or 4 kicks it fires then dies again right away.

Kenny : God I hate it when people tell me "clean the carb" and I know they're right... lol.

I cleaned the carb out, put fresh gas and oil in, and bought an NGK BPR7HS plug and it fired up and is still running perfect, with variator still restricted I'm getting 34MPH. Holy s***... Should fly off the chart once I derestrict then.

That's sad though. My derestricted Dio only hits 32-ish, while this restricted SE50 is hitting 34 already...

I need to take pics of the finished product. I had to modify the left panel to make room for the airbox. But, it worked great otherwise.
