Do you recommend the aero 50?

Re: Do you recommend the aero 50?
Here's a ton of info on the Aero 50 including all the differences between the years (yes it's my site ):
http://www.motorscooterguide.net/page1/page5/page5.html
I love the Aero 50! Such sick scoots....the Aero 80's rock (unreal acceleration) but the extra insurance makes them tough to justify.
Essentially, the '85 model was all new but Honda made some key updates for '86 (kickstarter, throttle controlled oil injection) that make the final 2 years the best unless you prefer the look of the earlier ones. I kinda prefer the look of the '83-'84 generation but the lack of go fast parts and no glove box is tough to swallow. The final years had it all. All Aero 50's have sweet storage in the rear right side panel.

Re: Do you recommend the aero 50?
Thanks all, I think I will get it. Turned out to be an '86.
DandyDan-your site is awesome BTW
Delux68-that is an awesome steal (whoops, I meant deal I think, at least for my local market)
Thanks again for everyones help
I looked at an 80 but in Iowa we can park 'mopeds' in the bike racks and motorcycles have to plug the parking meter. That is what steered me away from the 80, insurance here in the states is only $20 difference per year for me so that isn't bad.delux68 wrote:I love the Aero 50! I've had my 84 for a year and I love it. I agree that part of the reason is the styling, part of it is that its my first scoot, part of it that the thing is zippy as * and tops out at about 35-38 (42 downhill scared the s*** out of me)
Of course I sometimes wish I could upgrade and make it a little faster, but for what I have it's fantastic. I would recommend it. I think it would be a solid addition to any fleet.

still have my aero50, i took off the trunk and recovered the seat. its been great and has caused no troubles except for a manifold bolt that went missing causing it not to start. i love this thing!
Re: Do you recommend the aero 50?
I have the same model blue and white 86 - also have the 85. With aftermarket variators alone, the 86 hits low 40's and the 85 close to 40. I also have an nh80 - but would never sell my 50's. I rattle-canned both the 50's - hard to go wrong with white and black. Get it

Oh yeah, you can go with an overseas version of a backlight cover - Bear pointed me toward it - for about $40.00. The black and red one has that cover and the white one has the original for comparison

Not to be Mr. Obvious, but this thread is 3 years old.

Uh, yes, of course. Er, um, I knew that the whole time.
