i really dont think they are bad cant be any worse then some of those chinese knock offs you all bash. and its made in my home state.

no i cant say the same thing as i had a few tonite, but bear why do you say its not going to have much giddy up and go? wouldnt a 4 stroke be a little better then 2 stroke? not that im knocking 2 stroke. i have 2 my self. and i wont be able to post any results til tax time but rust me if i do get one ill post for sure. i just seen it today. didnt even know they sold scooters. its more of a country and farm place. you know like a tractor supply. but yes they are made in fort wayne indiana, just about 200 mile from me(lol). but hey still in the usa.

The Bear is correct in that a 2-stroke is theoretically more powerful than 4 of similar displacement. (the 4-stroker produces a more efficient combustion every other time around...)

It all depends in its state of tune, which can only be determined by a test ride. Mets and Rucki aren't generally known for speed. I do like the front disc.

im not looking for a land speed record, do you thinks a 4 stroke is worthy of 40 mph? and it is a neat lookng scoot. but it doesnt matter how it looks if it dont cook. im just looking for something a little more reliable for my son to ride to his buddies house and i know its going to get him back. my spree is my project and the suzuki well its older and prats are real expensive to get so thats where im at. now if it goes faster ther the spree well then we will talk different. but what do you think od 4 storoke as peliable?

Mine is Chinese, but 50cc and four stroke and it is NOT powerless. I actually like it, they need some tuning to the trans out of the box that nobody does. If they'd just button down and replace a center spring with a stiffer one, the four strokers wouldn't be slower in my opinion.

I don't mind mine at all.

I got a better look at their website on my proper Office computer. Punching in a Zip code for parts and service led to a dozen dealers in my SouthEast Texas region here in Deepinnaharta. That was a pleasant surprise. It looks like the company made an effort to distribute around the country and make it easy on a buyer to get P&S. The only caution is that this company's a new and relatively unknown quantity. No tellin' how long they'll be around in this economy. However producers of low-budget toys that have utility value (and enviable gas mileage) may be a safer bet than most.

Lots of attractive features aside from the front hydraulic disc. 1.7-Gallon tank, sidestand + centerstand, to name just two.

I'd be shocked if this scooter wasn't faster than a Spree. OK it's a 4-stroke, but even in a modest state of tune and slanted toward reliability and longevity you have to figure it's capable of 3-4 HP. With the variator transmission, it should be good for 35 at least, with better acceleration. (The Metropolitan is speed-limited to 50 KPH and capable of more.)

It'd all depend on the engine design. The source of those engines needs to be examined. Is it a scratch-built, in-house design or did they buy a shipload of Chinese clones? Unknown from the website. I'd be surprised if they built the engine (especially at that price) but I'd buy one if so. Otherwise, proceed with utmost caution.

Either way, the site says:

Speed Adjustable: Check state and local laws for legal operation

Just set the "Adjustment" to 75MPH.

1971. don't even like Nyquil. Cigs had already went out the window in 1969.

Drivetrain can make a big difference between 2 stroke and 4 stroke. Definitely, it should outdo the Spree. Stroke and bore can also make a difference. Major difference between Spree and Dio, other than porting, is stroke. The oversquare engine may have more horspower but not torque, and it's torque that

is more important.

All that said, this scoot comes at a sacrifice of 200 lb as compared to 85 lb for the Spree and 140 lb for the Elite. It will probably be more equivalent to the Metro or Zuma. All in all, I don't care for the Euro look. I really like the vintage scoots.

BTW, just checked out Yamaha/Euro. They have vastly different and larger variety over there for their 50cc lineup. Even have an Aerox?
