Yeah Well. I remember one time on the way home from work, I guy in jacked up 4x4 SUV with off road tires passing me on Interstate in a strong storm. I was doing maybe 30, he passed me doing about 45, got 200 yards in front of me and went into a spin which put him in the medium. I smiled at him as I drove by.

Translated, that means respect your equipment and respect the conditions. When I was on the icey roads, my job demanded that I be there, but I always started out a hour early to deal with conditions

That also means take your equipment on a frozen lake, learn what it takes to spin it out and what it takes to make it go straight again. Also learn that driving in slick s*** is a 2 hand 100% concentration required deal.

offroad/snow tires don't do jack, it is the cleat effect that the studs have

As an update: I found out what made it stick. The little plastic tab in the throttle slide "chamber" was worn completely down. I took a tiny punch and tapped at it from the outside of the carb, it came out just enough to let the slide start lining up again with it. My first scooter, what can I say.

that was my thought, I have seen it in plastic but that is rare, typically it is a brass pin.
