Ben,

Yeah, the problem is I have never owned a set of NEW skirts, (or a new SR).

-If I had a new set on my hands, then I would be sure those little tabs would not break off!

All of the used bikes (and used skirts) I have found have the tabs broken off. I guess it happens when the owner installs them and forces them on, or the scooter is mistreated. Probably happens when a passenger "buddy" rides on the back and hits the skirts with their feet.

Angie and I have still not bought a new set of skirts; I have sanded her original skirts down all the way to 1500 grit, and I could probably go all the way down to a 2000 grit to "polish" them back to their matte finish. Last step would be to wipe them down with Back-To-Black, and they should be good to go.

Later man, jon & ang :coolcruise: :coolcruise:

What it comes down to is they are just poorly designed IMO. They are simply hard to install and take off without snapping a tab. I will eventually order new ones but it's like the last thing on my list.

There is a syndrome for tab breakers, it is called "Ham Handed Gorilla Syndrome." These things are not a bulldozer, you have to exercise a little patiences and finesse. :eyeroll: You know, none of the "Don't force it, get a bigger hammer" crap. Tab breakers are the same ones who strip out carb threads and cylinder/head bolts. Image
