i think i killed it....
Went out riding today. I wasnt keeping an eye on the miles, but i know i had over 25 easy. On my way back twords my house i decided to stop at a friends house (about 7 miles outside of town). The kick start "stipped" (turned out to be just fine.). Had to use a battery charger to get the thing going. So i raced home with the gas gauge on 'E' the entire time. Barely made it home.
So, get home, fix that. Ride over to another friends house (maybe like a mile away). Just about there and i notice a small drop in speed. I was going slow so i hardly noticed it.
Parked it, went inside. Came back out 15 minutes later and the thing wont start. Kicked it for a good 15 minutes or so and nothing. Pulled the plugged, and it looked fine. Cleaned it up, Threw it back in. No change. Just a few back fires out the exhaust.
As im kicking it im starting to realize the kick is getting easier and easier every time...
more details coming tomorrow as i pull this bike apart...

yeah its got gas.
Ok, so i pulled it all apart to find an Great looking piston, awesome looking rings, and a perfect cylinder...
The piston has got a little carbon on the top of it. but the rest of it looks amazing. The rings look brand new and the cylinder looks like it only has a few miles on it. (reflections in the pictures make it look bad. But in person its much better) Im totally amazed that a bike with 12'005 km's on it can be this nice on the inside.
Still confused at what the problem is i put the motor back together and decided to kickstart it to see if i notice anything odd. Kicked it once and it fired straight up.
So im all excited and i throw everything back together (all the body panels and the seat pan). Go to take it for a test ride....
It wont start....
It ran fine when i had it all opened up. but once i put it back together it dont want to start. i dont know if something is shorting out somewhere or what but this is going to be a pain in the * to find/fix.
[im just glad the cylinders fine.]

i messed with this b**** all day.
I hate this random * problem! Its like, every time i think i got it. i ride it. Everything is good. turn it off, turn it back on like 50 times. its all good. then all at once, nothing. like it dont even want to try. Tear it apart, find no problem, put it back together then it runs again!
its f***ing random as *.
Also, anywhere know where the * to find the year on this thing? I want to go get it all legal but i cant find the year on the thing.

Little heat on the CDI (hairdryer) could help isolate the problem. When done with that, try the coil too. I PM'd you about the possibility of stator coil that excites the CDI too.sounds like cdi man, those can cause intermittent problems and we've seen it happen on several of our kymcos
Good luck with that problem, intermittents are a bear.
BTW: Some Kymco electricals look compatible to Honda. Am curious if your CDI looks compatible.
