-just when I thought my bike was close to being completed, a small snag pops up.

-To install the rear-set plate adapters, the OEM footpeg mounts will have to be removed, a.k.a. cut off. (the factory footpeg mounts are welded to frame)

-luckily I have a spare frame!

-last week I removed the factory peg mounts and welds, along with also removing the helmet holder bracket and a few other tabs that aren't needed anymore on my NS. The "new" frame is being cleaned and powdercoated now.

As for my rear sets, I ordered each and every factory part from HRC from the NSR50R.
To mount them I had my friend in Japan order me a set of billet mounting plates, and HRC NS50R clamps. All of this just to convert my NS to rear disc!

I will post pics soon. later guys, -j

Haha, I promise pics as soon as I get my frame back from powdercoating, Mr. Wheelman!

My end result will be a 1990 NS50f with a complete, oem Honda HRC rear disc setup.

I have ordered (and already have) all of the HRC NSR50R parts: -right and left rear-sets, master cylinder, caliper, brake pedal, hardware, and Takegawa free floating caliper bracket...

My good friend Daisuke, President of CF POSH in Japan ordered me the rear-set mounting plates, that did not include the necessary clamps needed to mount the plates to the NS's frame. Daisuke quickly found out that the mounting clamps are hard to find... Being that the NS50F/R has been somewhat "replaced" by the NSR50R, as well as the most current NSF100. I got the email today that Daisuke found the clamps, and ordered me an extra set to have "just in case..." Much appreciation, Daisuke!

The rear-set mounting plates and clamps should arrive around the same time that my spare "modified" frame is done being powdercoated.

This step in my build has taken a really long time to complete simply because of trying to decide and research what parts I need, and "what will work the best / what will work with what." -I have seen pics of various NS50F/R's with rear disc conversions in Japan, but in almost ALL cases it either looks like a "hack" mod-job, or a full-race mod that sticks out like a sore thumb.

My NS50F will look just like it had a factory disc-brake setup from Honda.

*^*^*^*^*^*^*^

...and, just when I thought i had my engine was complete, I "learned / got a hint" of a really really special Xmas present that's coming for the NS from Angie...

Here is a hint about what I have to freaking wait for Xmas for:

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HG-xlSxquXY

And

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-ggdCUWjPjE

-see the "19ps" (19hp) in the description? That refers to *rear wheel hp!*
There is a small tuning shop in Japan called Racing Shop LIP's.

RS LIP's creates the most powerful AND reliable bore kits / exhausts for the NSR-type engine. Ranges for the kits are 50cc-90cc's, in Stages 1-3 & full GP Circuit race.

-I had mentioned to Ang how much I would absolutely love  to have an RS LIP's 63cc Stage 2 kit. Welp, looks like I have to wait until Xmas! Talk about excited  !! I cannot wait! The 63cc kit is their most "tuned" and reliable. There's also an S63RR for race only circuit use which power is simply massive.

I love the small "garage-shop" type tuning companies in Japan. Absolutely amazing parts come out of these shops. The only downside is 99% do not speak any English, and "they aren't trying to learn."

All my "AF18" buddy's should see the RS LIP's 'Sabre 3' and 'Street Soul 2' pipes for the Dio...

My friend Daisuke has been so, so helpful with my quest for the best parts. :thumbwink:

Come on Xmas... Get here soon!! :nervous:
-This will be better than a Red Ryder-Carbide Action BB gun, with a compass in the stock and this "thing that tells time."

Pics soon, soon, soon.... But not soon enough!

Later dudes, j.

Seller sent a pic to my phone. Sorry I can't share from phone...
The ONE part I was hoping present is the rear cover,...not so lucky there, BUT
there is a belly pan still hanging on it ! ! !
Looks rather weird because there is no radiator shroud nor fairing...meh
The seat is gone, but looks pretty complete otherwise.
He said the tank is dented too,... :eyeroll: ...aren't they all ?
One NEW part he mentioned is carburetor...we'll see what that means.
Should have it in my possession in a couple days.(NO TITLE) Pix to follow... :urban:

Greetings Shifty Fiftys:
NS50F #3 turns out to be as rough as they come....
Only a brief viewing as it sat on the trailer persuaded me to take possession.
There's going to be very little to re-sell, so making use of the parts for maintaining "Nessie" is the focus.
I will add the belly-pan once cleaned and (prob) painted white.
This will no doubt serve mainly as display area for stickers, so it can be a little janky...meh... :eyeroll:
Looks wrong without shroud and fairing...
No daylight for pix...catch'em next time... :urban:

Motormike;

First off, Look! There's a tail-cowl on eBay right now:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1990-Honda-NS50 ... cb&vxp=mtr

Not the best shape, but easily fixed to look like new! I'm not thinking many wil be bidding of this one, so hopefully you can score it.

Secondly, GREAT purchase, dude... Beautiful, just beautiful. For 200$, you did very well. Of course I see infinite potential (my NS was not any better when I bought it) * OR * grab the spare parts you want to keep, and sell the rest! Have you noticed just how -few- NS50F parts are on ebay? -I'm sure you have.... No one ever post parts for the beloved NS.

$200 a great price considering you can easily make the money back selling parts...

Keep in mind that a complete AC08 / AC10 engine goes for some serious cash these days. Spend some time going over it and cleaning it up, and when you're ready let me know and I will give you links to where to post it up. Just an idea...

Later guys, talk soon, jon

Found the frame had been broken near the right foot-peg and welded.
The following will explain what happened next..... :hi:

Made an offer on that tail cowl cover...seller replied that after auction expires
and doesn't sell, then maybe.... :eyeroll:
