I don't consider it truly photoshoot worthy yet, but here's a photo:
Motormike, you're really hammering it if you've managed to lowside it. I've watched the videos of the people racing them in Japan. I certainly haven't pushed it near that hard.
Here's a "concept drawing" I did when we were brainstorming ideas for the raffle bike. The pickup bed and longboard rack were thrown away pretty early once we realized they'd be pretty counter to actual usefulness. I thought we could have managed the under the motor VW style exhaust but we opted to keep it stock and just make it clean.

Good call on the seat in black.
That's the one most gawdy thing in red.
I can help you with plastics (or other parts) if you're wanting to complete it with OEM stuff.
Got one '86 parts bike, one untouched '86 project for the street.

Thanks! I'm a sucker for pleated seats with white piping. There wasn't much seat left, a chunk of foam, some scraps of vinyl and from that the upholstery guy worked a miracle. And he's always been really reasonable with scooter stuff.
If I find I need something I'll let you know. There's a box of parts at somebody's house I need to go pick up.
Current plans are to keep it kind of skeletal. Been thinking about a wire tuck to clean it up and adding some foot pegs further back ala rearsets.
Just for fun, some more photos:
Screwing around one afternoon with some cafe bars:
Test fitting a potential carb donor...

Mike, that second photo is awesome. What a cool bike to have around! I'd dig a small 2 stroke motorcycle. I'd dig a big 2 stroke motorcycle...
I'm not going with the cafe bars, I bought them for a moped but sold it before putting them on. I ride a cafe'd CB350 and my scooter buddies were telling me to cafe the Gyro to match. I'm likely going shorter but not that short, a man should not be folded up in the middle while cruising about at 30mph...

I really like what you did with the round headlight. I also really like that white piping on the seat. If your looking for parts you've deffinetly come to the right place.

Looking around for tires and the spacers/adapters haven't shown up yet.

It will corner great, but at 9 mph so would your lawn tractor. The rolling resistance from a tire that wide should be a big challenge for your 50cc firebreather. But it'll float nice when you fall through the ice.

I'm going for the "JDM" look.
Low profile tire on an ATV rim. I've seen a number of Gyros and Road Foxes with the fat rear tires around online, seems a pretty common thing to do over there.
Besides, experimenting is fun!

My Gyro has a lean, but not a loan. Maybe it's different in New Zealand.
