Another great barn find

Post by GIJoeBob »

Friday night I took my Spree to the downtown classic car cruise night. A guy came by to talk to me and a friend who was there with me on his CT90. The guy told us he had some bikes that we should come look at and that he wanted to sell them to us.

Two days and $350 later I am the proud owner of a 1971 Honda CB175. It's in great shape and purrs like a kitten.

Greetings:

Dang tank ain't even dented! I thought they came that way. :)

There was a time when I'd have done almost anything for that very bike. So you gonna restore or just ride it?

There's not much to do to it. Some steel wool to get rid of the rust on the chrome and some new tires will get it close enough to done for me.

NooOOOOOOOO!!

Maybe light with Scotchbrite pads if the rust's real thick, but I'm beggin' ya, get a polisher and metal polish and do it with that. Steel wool will just ruin the chrome. Better yet, ship me the bike and I'll do it for you. Should take no more than 3 or 4 years... :)
