how do you transport your scoots?

How do you transport your scoot for a trip (when you can't ride it there)?

I had to take the plastics off to make enough clearance. I put a small aluminum deck on the jet ski trailer.

I bought this at Harbor Freight
And then there is the regular bike trailer of course...

Nice - Guy at work's jetski trailer is set up to haul the family's bicycles up front and a couple windsurfers over the top. Trailer makers should take note, jet skiers have many toys.

Mine is plain old back of the pickup...

do you have to lay the aero over? if so, what prep work do you do? I ask because my friend has a station wagon (shaggin' wagon) and we thought about putting a couple in it but decided not to...Have not tried the suburban yet but it fit in my Bronco just fine.

Funny thing is that those aren't even my jet ski's, I just told my friend if he wanted me to hual them I was going to put a small deck on the trailer and he said "whatever it takes."

07 Honda Fit with the rear seats folded down. They fit standing straight up. Its only Sprees and the Gyro I haul around

This traler was a homemade from compact car frame back in the 60's. I bought it about 15 years ago. Wood got terribly bad, so I rebuilt it this past Spring before vacation, using treated 5/4 lumber.

Front crossed tiedowns are the only straps used. Bottom is secured only by the front tire ramp, and the rear rails, all wooden. Scooters load extremely fast.

Back board also serves as loading ramp

Front tire fits in this front ramp box. In the end, the front box and the rear rails, all wooden, are the only stability on the bottom, then the cross straps in the front.

It is truely amazing what can be hauled in a hatchback.

Lunytune-i like the 2x4's for the back tire, we used to do that when hauling baggers long distances but we would load the bikes then nail the boards around the back tire (formed a triangle). I never have liked thos cam straps much, I always use ratchet straps for load securement. where did you get those handlebar extension straps from?

Guy, the entire trailer is built with 5/4 treated lumber, included the rear guides. 5/4 is lumber that is rough cut 1 1/4" and then dressed to full 1", whereas what we call 1" lumber is actually 3/4" when finished. This lumber is normally used for decks. Lots cheaper than the way I built my deck with 2" lumber.

I bought the cam straps and the extension straps at Walmart, over in the RV section. I agree, ratchet straps are more trustable. I pull these down then wrap strap around and knot them off. It only takes a few seconds and is secure the way I do it... and actually faster than ratchets. Final product, scooters are very secure and don't bounce around. Notice, I don't use the kickstands. Both tires are on the ground, giving a little cushion and easier ride.

The box and rails are a little tight with 3.00 tires. I wish I had made them just a tad looser, but whatcha got is whatcha got. I'm not redoing it.

So what do we have here ? Trailer queens(as the hot rodders would say)...haha.ha.....OK,not so funny.....I've got an '94 Ford van.I use several ratchet straps.Lots of room and it keeps my "queens" nice and clean,well as clean(absolutely filthy) as when I babied(shoved) them in.Added bonus is you can get a cheap buzz(gas fumes) which makes the drive all that much more fun.Just have to be careful about smokers lighting up(potentially exciting).Remember we're all on two wheels.Carp

It works great for me and it is a lot easier to deal with than a trailer.

Gees, GIJoeBob, how do you fit a scoot on that thing? Looks too short. I've got a 2x4 carrier, but I believe wheelspace, even on the NQ50 exceeds that.
