First accident

Post by oliveskate »

Well I just installed a little new light on my scooter. I wanted to see how it look like at night. Well I'm driving, just slipped, and slide around 10 feet scratching my arm, and scratching the whole side of my scooter, and I probably need some new plastic now, and some other stuff. We'll see tommorow. I think I broke a light as well. One thing for sure though, is I need new tires.
So no more riding for a while :( until i get money. Man I was in shock.

This really sucks, but my scooter works still.
So tomorrow i'll see how bad the damage is.
My nice paint job on my 1989 Honda SE50 will not look good anymore lol.

I hope this is my last and only accident.

I've always said that there are two types of riders in this world... Those that HAVE crashed, and those that WILL crash... You can now place yourself in the first category with most of the people on this site. Just glad to hear you "walked awway" with minor injuries.

When it comes to two wheeled motorized machines (mopeds, scooters, go-peds, motorcycles, etc.) it's not a matter of if, but when.

Glad your OK, I have seen bad things happen in crashes. Bikes can be fixed much easier and cheaer than humans! I have plastics for sale in the wanted/for sale section from an '87 Elite. May fit your model also.

Yea I saw that thread.
First thing first is new tires, and we'll see from there. Thanks though.

Edit - Just checked out my scooter, and well nothing really happened. Only thing was my left light cracked, so I should get a new one. A little crack on my plastic. That's pretty much it, I've realized so far. My se50 is a tank. lol. But when I feel, something was on the ground, gas or oil?
I'm going to take the plastics off today, and look to see if anything broke or got damaged, cause I remember seeing some sparks flying.

Left side sparks is likely from the kick starter. The side cover is aluminum and doesn't spark.

Yea that's what I think it was from. I checked it, and some damage was done on the kick starter.

Small crack can be patched with ABS or PVC cement(ABS preferred) and fiberglass cloth on the back.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

The cement is plumbing related.
