it's good to know someone who went for one of those. Something about the low price and stock photo scared me away, so let us know how it works/lasts.

eBay ad says "Honda Clutch Belt SA50, NB50, SE50 Elite Aero SA SE".
Are all those models interchangeable?
Are all AF05E variable belts interchangeable?

Greetings:

Uncomprehendably, Honda's engine code for the Spree is AF05E too. The Spree/SB belts are different.

However all variated 2-stroke US scooters use the same belt. From the '85 NB50 through 2001 SA50 Elite, the part's the same.

Never understood same nomenclature for the Spree/SB.

So then, I just need to stock one belt for "most" of my needs. Only one SB at the time, but considering a Spree, and possibly an Areo. I don't see many (any?) for sale.

Greetings:

My Deepinnaharta Honda dealer looked up the Honda-approved belt for around $40 IIRC. He then looked in a catalog and found an identical aftermarket version - also a Gates and FAPP the same as the one ordered from Honda. He charged me under $20, and that incurred no shipping cost. The eBay deal looks less attractive to me. Sometimes Honda is the best AND cheapest option.

That's great... if you can talk your local Hondasan into doing it. I may try it. He's resourceful, but also loyal to the namebrand. I guess that's what he's paid for. However, he sells quite a variety of tires and might be willing to look up the Gates.

Wait a minute... Gates? Why can't I get the local auto parts house to look it up. If Honda can do it, so can anybody else with access to Gates.

Neither honda dealer by my home stocked the OEM belt and for them to order it would have been $40.00 including tax. I took a chance on the Ebay belt and so far so good for under $30.00. Obviously if you can get wheelmans deal I would take that instead.

Never buy a belt from an auto store as they are rated at 4,000 rpm, look at your car pulleys then see how tiny your scoot pullys are?

Get in your car and tell me where the tach redlines at.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.
