I've got an 89 SA50 powder blue with a Polini bbk, new battery, new rear tire and battery tender pigtail. I'll sell mine for that price.

NAH! That's an AF05E descendant of the Aero. Wheelman's already hooked on the AF16E. He's now a converted Dio man. If he had it, he'd just "Swap in a Dio"!

EBay Typo Error on SB50

Post by Wheelman-111 »

Greetings:

That's about the nicest 20-year-old vehicle I have ever seen. However he should've asked for $9,500.00. He's almost as likely to sell for that price as for his current asking. Extra-nerdy windscreen fortunately is removable. The tail trunk is a handy added feature.

I like 'em all! I'm thinking of swapping a big-bore SB into my Elite... :) No variator tuning!!

Mixed reviews is what I got and expected.
I'm not real familiar with this model so answer this as well. Why did Honda put the gas gage on the rear? Makes no sense to me at all.

The "E" was the transition from the Spree to the Elite SA. It was apparently a budget scooter. The gas gauge in the rear is cheaper than on the dash. No sending unit, no wiring, no receiving unit. Just a float and visible needle. . It is a real oddball in the family. Saying that, I got one. It's okay, but lacking in power. Great for hauling though. It only weighs 90lb and easily to load singlehanded... For the young and tough.

Your mention of the gauge made me take a second look. I thought that was an SA50LX. Shucks, that's an "E". Price dropped even more. I gave $500 for mine, too much. But it was my first and I was learning. I know where a very clean Spree is now for $350. That's more what the "E" is worth, maybe $400. Even as low mileage as it is, still $500 tops.

That price is pushing it even if the bike is still in the crate.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.
