Offroad Project

Post by Justinsane »

hey all, well. the general is fun and all, but i live kinda out in the boonies where it takes too long to drive to town on it, but i do live in a huge wooded sand pit... off roaders paradise.... so..

ill be taking off the body panels, and either crafting diamond steel/aluminum ones, or just leaving them off...

then. ill be wanting to buy some Honda XR50 tires, so if anyone has any.. lemme know

also, is there any possibility of a lift for sprees?

any other suggestions for modification to my spree before i start? like reinforcement? see, i dont jump it, but its pretty bumpy.. i dont think its too bad though. thanks

The 88-93 Elite 50 shock is 1" longer. You could probably lift the frontend 1" by inserting a 1" tall block into the fork and reassembling them (carefully.)

A second shock? I don't see how that would be trivial to add. I'd run a heavier Elite 80 unit, or a longer Elite 50 shock.

to do the trans u will need to weld aluminum. lots of work. doesnt really matter when u can get a better shock. doesnt effect travel.

i would look for an old elite-s or yamaha zuma, your spree doesn't have the power and may fall apart off rode.
