Interested in your warm up procedure.

It has been getting cold here (only the 50s) and the scoot runs strangely in the cold.

50's man wish it was 50's here, i think i seen the last of the 50's saturday. most of the time now days its like lower 40's upper 30's, anyway i let mine run for about 5 mins before i give any throttle

Its been in the 40's here. I usually let it warm up for about 10 min, that way I have some time to get thing together.

If the carburetor is properly tuned and the bystarter working proper, it shouldn't take long for warm up. However, wear factor is harder on cold engine than warm engine. Doubt that I'll be riding much longer until I get a windshield installed on one. Bought a cheapy on eBay, just need to decide which scooter to put it on. Windshield does cut a lot of cold air off the face and eyes.

recently my daily regimen has been to start, put on gloves, tie on a bandana bank robber style to keep my face warm, put on helmet and take the slow long way out of the neighborhood before i tear around the city...
so probably about 5 minutes ish...

The sb50p is the only scooter I run in the winter. Warm up times vary, sometimes 30 seconds if I am just going the couple blocks to the grocery store or 2/3 minutes if I am going on an actual ride. It takes at least 1.25 minutes to warm up before it will really rev (go over 20mph) or even accelerate at a decent pace.

These two strokes do but I have run my c3 just to see how well it works in the cold and it doesn't really miss a beat.

Although I thought the stock Honda bystarter did a commendable job for the most part, sometimes I wished for manual control. That black cover is sort of important. It acts as an insulator to keep the innards warm and the enrichener off during short stops to pick up dry-cleaning or fuel. Some models actually blow hot air from the shroud in its general direction, which also helps prevent carb icing on those colder days too.

Since the Mikuni with its manual choke went on, I find the engine needs at least 60 seconds or 150 degrees on the CHT before it will carburet cleanly. Fortunately that's the time it takes to don helmet, gloves and Carbon-Fiber Codpiece. Can't be too careful with BBK made in Taiwan... That 15-degree cylinder angle makes me nervous.

I make my own. Mine's XXS. You can compensate for small bore size with RPM.

with my elite i have been going out and starting it, then waiting about ten minutes till i go out there, then taking it easy for the first mile or so. its 35 degrees right now.

About 5 minutes or until the light smoke clears up....

If dio moto is modify, need to run small pilot/main jets., due to cold weather.

warm to hot weather - carb need bigger pilot/main jets..

or back off 2 1/2 turn out.

10 seconds with a manual choke which is used for initial start up, hotter spark plug & synthetic oil for winter riding.

The only scooter I have for use is my customers 1996 Razz that I just big bored. The jet that comes with the kit seems to be too big, however, plug chops look perfect, it runs when ICE COLD for about 30 seconds then goes rich. It will start every time without using the choke even in the cold. It was below freezing last night and I hit the switch and it took right off. When it starts to die is when I take off.

I have to say I love the big bore kits Taz makes, however I found a loop to get around milling the head..

Call me nuts but double base gaskets makes perfect clearance. I've never in my life felt a Razz actually WANT to pull up the front wheel or exceed 28MPH. It's broke in and topping out around 36-37.

How about going 55mph on a honda express, yes i have a malossi 60cc kit plus pipe= scary sleeper
