A very sad day.

A very sad day.
Drained the carb and tank, disconnected the battery... it's just too cold.
Re: A very sad day.
To make it to December in Illinois is still pretty freakin good.drizzle wrote:Drained the carb and tank, disconnected the battery... it's just too cold.
I have not seen a bike on the street for a few weeks now in Michigan.
I'd rather be riding my Aero!
Re: A very sad day.
i tried to stick it out a little longer, but seeing snow fall today was just too much. d*** the midwest!
Re: A very sad day.
Its been around 28 all day. I went for a little ride to the gas station for a Rockstar and my face was numb. Winter came way to soon.

Re: A very sad day.
The last guy I saw a few weeks ago on a chinese scoot was wearing a gorilla mask to keep his face worm. His helmet had no face sheild.
He parked it next to my car downtown and it was funnier than s***!

Re: A very sad day.
i rode till about 2 nights ago... by the time i got home i couldnt feel my thumbs (d*** fingerless gloves...) and the spots the bandanna cover on my face.
but it doesn't have to be a bad thing, now is the time to take every thing apart and make it better. i am going in, gasket matching the case and jug, raising the compression, porting the intake, exhaust and transfer ports. i just cant bear to drain the tank just yet...
DISASSEMBLE!!!

I agree, the elite got put in storage but that is the main reason I bought the Gyro. Safe 3-wheel scooting year round.drizzle wrote:but seeing snow fall today was just too much. d*** the midwest!
portable : Can you imagine how long it would take 'Santa' if he rode a spree around the world

santa didn't ride one reindeer,he had a herd of them. we could "hook um up" we just got to get the gearing right.
Re: A very sad day.
If you would dress like Santa, you might make it to Christmas. Temp right now is 19 degrees, first really cold day this season. Time for the longjohns and carharts.
Got a helmet with faceshield on my Wishlist, and new windshield to install on one of the Elites. That should help a bunch.

Cold Weather Riding
Greetings:
I have three words for you: Snowmobile Suit.
If the roads are dry, you can ride. On November 1, 1981 I mounted my 1977 Yamaha 750 Triple in Moncton New Brunswick on a bright 19 -degree morning (with flurries) bound for St. Damien, Quebec. The temperature never reached 40 through the entire trip, which took me through the Northern Maine mountains. Snowmobile suit made it possible. Well, that and long johns. And two pairs of jeans. And every sweater I owned. And a rain suit over all. I felt and looked like the Michelin Man after a bad Thanksgiving. I also arrived showing symptoms of Grade II hypothermia. No tellin' how we survive our 20s...
Of course putting on all these clothes sort of detracts from the attractive "hop on and go" feature of using scooters for transportation in the first place... and just don't try it in the snow/ice.

Re: A very sad day.
much more productive if we drink warm cider, go in the garage, turn on the heater, and work on the scooter projects.

The heck with the garage!portable wrote:much more productive if we drink warm cider, go in the garage, turn on the heater, and work on the scooter projects.
I just picked up my Aero and carried it down to the basement.
It's a beautiful 65 degree's down there!
I'd rather be riding my Aero!
Re: A very sad day.
Yep mine's in the basement too. I'm way more likely to get motivated to do things in my basement than my garage this time of year.
It's official! I'm addicted
