Customizing 85' spree suggestions plz

Post by crystalw25 »

I just bought a 85 honda spree and im starting my customization. I need help on the colors. Im painting it dark blue and I want to paint the rims as well and im getting a diff seat cover. what are some suggestions, should i paint the rims or not? i want to paint the body blue and the seat and rims the same colors but what color? any ideas? ive only painted one piece so far thats all i had time for after work today but i'll show you what color it is, but im not sure the picture quality will show the 'true' color its kind of off.

I think some flat black wheels would look nice with that color :thumbwink:

i agree with b3 flat black would look nice, but so would white,or a brighter silver. of course chrome would be ultimate but also expensive.

Thanks for your suggestions. I think i will be going with chrome for rims and exhaust. Alot of my friends have been telling me that as well. I will post pics of my progress soon.

I'm still trying to figure out how people can paint all these Spree plastics and have them not turn out looking like crap.

I just made sure to scrub them down really good with a cleaning solvent before.. then applied two coats of spray paint from my local hardware store. Nothing fancy.. just had to make sure the black on the pipes was heat resistant.

Whoa! I think I was emailing you earlier about your ad on craigslist.. I knew the blue was a rare color, but wasn't sure what they went for.

I was thinking about painting my wheels. How big of a pain is it to get them removed?

removing wheels isnt that difficult at all, and you dont even have to remove the tires! you can deflat them and put index cards inbetween the rim and tire and spray away
