A 46mm in that stock cylinder would heat over so fast it wouldnt be funny. The walls would be tooooo thin.

I thought the Taz 44mm BBKs were manufactured specifically for this purpose. Is this thread just saying that he gets brand new Honda cylinders and bores them to 44mm?

What do the 44 and 48mms up the cc's to? Also, I was wondering if these little engines respond to mild port work?

Inattentive in Geometry Class

Post by Wheelman-111 »

Greetings:

I too paid little attention to Mr. Flaherty in geometry class. Too busy testing various smoke between periods. Stupid days of youth.

AN-ee-how, the Volume of a Cylinder. Pie Are Squared times Height.

You know the diameter is - let's use the 48 BBK - 48 mm. That means the Radius is 24mm. You want the result in ccs, so that's 2.4 cm radius.

2.4 x 2.4 equals 5.76. That's your r-squared.
I use pi = 3.1416. It's close enough.

5.76 times 3.1416 = 18.095616. Thet-thar's your area of the circle. Now you multiply by the height, which is the crankshaft stroke of 37.4mm, or 3.74 cm.

18.095616 x 3.74 = 67.67760384 cubic centimeters. Call it 68.

Now your turn using the 44mm bore kit. Practice makes perfect!
