The Dark Side
As some of you may noticed, I recently began to unload my seemingly endless hoard of Performance Elite parts onto the forum. I give many thanks to all who have purchased from me in the past and future.
With that being said, I will soon be listing my Elite S for sale in essentially full stock form (unrestricted, of course).
Now for the best news:
Lately I've had my heart set on finding an imported Sachs Madass 50 moped. I sent countless emails and found only 4 for sale within 250 miles of me! Yesterday I ventured into north-central Wisconsin and picked up my newest and probably not last moped.
Specs:
- 2006 model
- 4-stroke engine
- 2-speed auto trans
- registered as a moped (originally 49.5cc)
- hydraulic disk brakes F/R w/ drilled rotors
- 16" wheels
- true hydraulic forks
- digital gauge (speedo/odo/trip/clock)
- projector high and low beam lights
- 88cc big bore kit (cylinder, cam, head, intake and carb)
- OORacing side exhaust
- 95mpg with big bore

Re: The Dark Side
While I may be reaping the benefits of your parts sales, that nifty moped to now sit atop is enough to make any scooter junky consider giving up their plastics for what looks to be a corner machine! Very nice!!!
Re: The Dark Side
I've had my eyes on those for the last 5 years. Just never took the plunge. Looks nice!

UPDATE:burnt_toast wrote:sweet ride dude, how you likin it over the elite?
It's been very frustrating so far. After a few short rides I found out that the voltage regulator/rectifier was bad (thanks previous owner ) and that the petcock was leaking fuel (common problem). I haven't been able to ride much lately seeing as the parts have to be imported.
All in all I still love this machine and it's a whole lot bigger (think comfy) than my Elite S! Hopefully I can get my needed parts late this week and get some new pics
Things accomplished so far:
- Relocated horn for cleaner look
- added a bar pad
- cleaned carb
- ordered OEM 125cc undertail exhaust (quiet and performance!)
2006 Sachs Madass
- FTP 140cc Kit
- Stock 125cc undertail exhaust

Re: The Dark Side
The 49cc version is dangerously slow, haha. We have the 125cc big brother here in Honolulu, Hawaii. It is sold brand new from the dealer. Very trick bike with motorcycle tech and ergo.
I'm a big fan of the MadAss. My friend offered me a free one, but I had to pay shipping from Seattle to Honolulu, and then, I'd have to buy a Lifan 150cc...I passed on it to spend more money on the Ducati
I was surprised to see a real SACHS MadAss in Beijing of all places China makes cheapo knockoffs of the MadAss, haha.
