Re: scooter racing
Greetings:
Thanks again Bakaracer! Sooty, oily-black plug came out of 4.2 using the 30mm OKO and 60/158 jets. I'm surprised the 21 works with a 52/112. The former sounds very big, while a 112 sounds pretty small. I guess if you've got fuel supply issues, there's no tellin'. Is 412F. as scary as it sounds?

Most of my money is spent on scooterparts. The rest is just wasted.

Re: scooter racing
The smaller venturi sucks better (more vacuum for the same RPM) so a bigger jet is not required.Wheelman-111 wrote:Greetings:

Re: scooter racing
i ran into the same thing when choosing a carb for my bike. VT insisted on using a 28mm with the pg long. after riding my bike awhile i think the 28mm is too big. 28mm is what comes on alot motorcross 80cc dirtbikes. and sadly im not making the same kind of power those motors do(i didnt expect to) id say a 24mm is good for most bikes. 28mm would be good on mini strokes and ported cylinders with very high reving pipe. just some random ramblings.Wheelman-111 wrote:Greetings:
Thanks, Baka. So you get all you need from a comparatively small 21mm OKO? I figured we were going overboard with those 28s (or a 30 in my case, but I got such a deal... ). Then again, I call VT and tell them Flash III's setup with a 24mm Mikuni and they insist I need a 28.
OK, just for sake of discussion, what jets go in the 21 to achieve such competitive performance?
Re: scooter racing
I forgot to check back after the first post and now there are pics...
Oh what I would give to do that on my ped... or on my streetbike... or in my car...
I hate the track situation in Hawaii

Re: scooter racing
That really is * sweet!
Funny about the carbs and VT because when I called and ordered my carb from them for the Dio build, they told me I only needed the OKO 19mm. Even though the engine is now back together, the rest of the scooter is waiting for some work to be done to have the go juice bolted back under it so I can't comment on the carb size/performance or jetting yet. Altohugh I do have the Dial-A-Jet that will be going on as well, so my jetting may be different than others.

Re: scooter racing
I can't wait to get my undercowl painted and on the bike. Nice representn' there bakaracer! Nice to see an 87 out there keeping up/passing some of the bigger bikes. Can I get the specs on your handlebar clamp? I am thinking drag bars! Thanks for the pics!
Re: scooter racing
Air scoop like for the carb or air shroud for the cylinder? No undercowls for spree's. They are to low to the ground already.SPREEtown wrote:great stuff. that under cowl is oh, so sick. is there an intake scoop in it? anyone seen them for sprees??
