All Time Top Speed for a Spree

Post by thadpk »

So what are some experiences with top speed of a Spree? Even with BBK and the like, I cannot see it going past 45 or so. An associate of mine (whom is a bit of an oddball) claimed to have seen one do almost 80. I smell BS to the extreme but wanted some expert advice.

Guess I posted too soon, saw the other thread and people are stating it is possible. I cannot fathom going that fast on a Spree and surviving to tell about it!!

When Does It Stop Being a Spree?

Post by Wheelman-111 »

Greetings:

A Spree with an NQ-50-original, unvariated AF05 probably won't go 80. However a Spree with a highly-modified AF16 engine could easily exceed that speed. Your friend probably saw one of those. But with a Dio engine, is it really a Spree? :nerd:

No......The nq50 will NEVER go 80mph

It would have to rev to about 20,000 rpms to go that fast. :surprise:

80 KPH maybe which equals aprox 50 MPH. I drive my Stock 84 spree down the most scary hill ever daily and I can get it going a little over 50kph on the spredo maybe 60kph if i push it hard and that is scary enough (I dont push it like that often don't want to melt the thing down). Heck my car has a hard time with 80MPH. that would have to be some carzy mods to get going that fast on a spree.

I am 6'2" and 185lbs. My 49cc nq50 with only modified stock parts went 42mph with no wind or hill. That's 67.592448 kph to you out there in Eurasia and/or South America/southern North America/northern North America... And i mean all day, every day. Literally thousands of miles before the crank bearings got sloppy around 10,000 miles, which resulted in the nut vibrating loose on the front pully, eating the splines off the shaft :( It still runs, but...yeah, it's broke. :| After my Spreeio is done, Ol' Red will get a brand new crank, bearings and seals, rings, gaskets, and further custom tooling to top secret Spreetard specifications then I'ma shoot for a higher top speed.

The stock-bore dio swap on my green spree with 9:1 gears and a 21mm oko and a tuned pipe goes faster, but i don't know by how much because t-jamz's gps is broken or stolen or some s***.

Oh, I like that, it's TJ's fault you don't know how fast your scoot is.

Greetings:

Jamz beat me to it, but I was gonna suggest either a Variated engine swap or you were strapped into the bed of your F-150.
