90/90-10 tires....

Post by S4Patrick »

Recommendations on 90/90-10 tires?

I've never pursued knowledge on motorcycle/ scooters.....

Can the Honda OEM front & rear rims from an '85-'87 Honda Aero 50 accept a tubeless tire?

Also, can you put a tube in a tubeless tire?

Thanks....

Greetings:

I've had good luck with Pirelli SL-26 from Motorcycle Superstore for around $22 + shipping.

You can and Should mount them with a tube on those rims. The narrow 1.85" Aero rims do squeeze the beads a bit closer together than the designers intended, however, making the profile look a little like a light bulb. It might improve the cush factor, but does not optimize the contact patch for best traction.

In addition to allowing you to omit the tube, the wider Met rims shape the tire correctly. Either way, you'll have to deflate the rear tire to permit installation. Otherwise it won't clear the case's exhaust bracket lug.

Or you can pull the axle.

Patrick,

If you do go the tubeless route, definitely get a pair of Dunlop TT92GP's -they look freaking awesome and perform great!

You can see them right here:

I am planning on getting a set for my Aero as soon as I can afford them.
