Beautiful, GK... How do you find all these low mileage NS's? ;)

Let it be known guys, that I'm looking for an UPPER Honda Optional radiator fairing, and a LOWER if possible.

I finally finished my NS-1 wheel / fork & caliper / disc spacing.
I have the front brake setup complete, and rear brake caliper "floating bracket" setup finished.

Talk to you all soon, j

I know the bike and the guy - both very nice. He'll be hanging around with a bunch of us coming from atlanta at suches.

And Mike, I am a swoop, I just meant that I only ride mopeds at rallies. I rode my ns at a rally in florida back in january and it wasn't as much fun as being on a moped with everyone else. Looking forward to seeing some of you guys at suches to drool over your bikes and make lowball offers on engine/radiator fairings, haha.

Also, just curious - what are the mileages on you guys' NS's? Mine's got 3,000, I've only put on a few hundred since january.

Greetings all Shifty Fiftys:
In hopes that someone has a rear sprocket on the shelf with little or (preferably) no use for it.... :?:
My NS50F has munched most nearly all the teeth from it's #43....
You can understand my need for a solid replacement before sprinting around some north-Georgia mountain roads...... :nervous: New chain of course...
Front sprocket looked to have a bit of life, but best scenario would be replace all w/new. . :hi:
I'm posting this before having looked anywhere else...if you can save me the trouble, cool... :thumbwink:
Links are good...TIA... :urban:

Hey Mr. Motormike;

Sorry I missed your call today dude; I was Zzz Zzz...
- I had a serious oral surgery yesterday and it's actually more painful today than it was the day of the surgery...

I'm 99.9% sure I can help ya out with your sprocket needs... I have a couple stock rears and a couple new stock fronts It's just a matter of figuring out where I stashed them. :)

I'll start the "dig" tomorrow and find them... Call ya soon-

Take it easy a few days ghost. I need to clean the inside beads of this wheel with a wire brush, get a new rim liner, clean some bearings and such. Mount the Gazelle... :geekdance:
I would be happy with the count that was on this bike, which was #14 front, #43 rear...guess that's OEM.
Any suggestions ? Maybe a #41 It sure feels like it could handle the drop.
Rock-on jon...get well soon... :urban:

Sounds like you had some rust in the rim. One of my wheels had some rust the other not, and one had a duct tape liner the other oem rubber. The one with the rubber had the rust, I guess the duct taped one kept the water sealed out better. After cleaning it out the best I could I elected to mount my new Pirelli tires without any soapy water. Luckily even dry they went on fairly easily, and thus my install didn't add any water to be trapped in. Doesn't help if I ride someday in the rain, but so far I've kept my NS50F away from rainy days. Let us know how you like the new Gazelle!

Someone asked about mileage. I bought my bike 2-3 months back with 850 miles and it now has about 1220.

Code GREEN for True Grits on the NS50F thanks to a ghostly friend with a kind spirit... :thumbwink:

I had forgotten completely about those fork tubes. The handling on mine has to feel somewhat askew compared to straight tubes...meh....a little.... :hi:

...7 days Shifty Fiftys.... :nervous:
Gazelle slipped right on. Centered up nicely with the bead seated good.
Got wrapped up into removing some bits to allow some degreasing around the front sprocket.
Then had to take out airbox/battery box.
Missing air filter...meh.. Battery is kraap
The swingarm is coated with sludge crud.
Once I knock off the worst of it, gotta get this all thrown back together.
Wanting to make a mock run by Monday.
Couple of busy days since I've been in the garage.
Heard our Nashville friend Norm is planning to swing into Suches with his van full of moto-trinkets.

So I picked up a trashed one of these to use as a parts bike to fix my ns -

Image

It's pretty wrecked and looks like it went through a fire at one point, but the forks are good and that's all I really need. I want to eventually use the wheelset/swingarm and the gauge cluster, but for now I'm just going to swap the forks over to get ready for suches this weekend. I'll post some pictures tomorrow or thursday so you guys can see how ruined this thing is, lol. Wish me luck!

That Japanese spec bike sure sure has an awesome paint scheme and front brake setup! Bring on the sad pictures so we can cringe... Wishing you luck on adapting the cool parts.

Yesterday I talked with someone else here local (that I had never heard of before) that has run True Grits several times and owns both an MB5 and NS50F. He might be at this years running which will then make three NS50F riders from Nashville alone!

LESS than 72 HOURS until green flag.
I will be waking up Saturday morning @ Hi Valley Resort in Suches GA. with a BIG SMILE...
My neighbor Matt has been employed to play a gig here in town and suddenly, can't go along as planned...
My NS is together...all sprockets and chain spinning silently and smoothly... :thumbwink:
Was able to squeeze in a 20-mile shakedown, but no full-length mock run yet.
I'm uncertain of the range my bashed gas tank will hold in fuel.
Auxillary container may be strapped on for that mile 65 surprise....chug...chug...blaaaarrrgh.
Still looking for a mirror that will give me a view of the passing bikes.
Maybe NickSWOOP has a tool-kit cover from his scorched bike that he is bringing to me..??....OR
I will tape a cereal box over it and ride.... :bowrofl:
