I always want something that either I can't have or is a major PIA. I really like this scooter in Japan or one like it. Who out there has brought one in or has a link on how to.

This is easy. If the scooter is 25 years or older it can be imported into the USA. This is a DOT regulation. 50cc scooters are exempt from the EPA so you dont have to worry about the EPA. If the scooter you want is less than 25 years old you have to be sneaky. lol

You will have to do it piece by piece. Thats how we get those here in Honolulu, HI.

25 yrs means anything made in 1986 or older. The ZX is a recent scooter so you're SOL. ZX, GDASH, LIVE DIO, Eve Smile, Super JOG Z, etc. can be found in Honolulu titled and registered. Probably easier to just get one in the states like Sanjuro.

My cousin in customs said they are turning away a lot of japan shipment and/or scrutinizing every parcel/container. Now with the crisis in Japan any JDM part will be worth its weight in gold.
