I sold my '86 nb50 but I still ride with an '87 nb50 engine sometimes. Does that count?

Mine was an '87, but mouse ridden. They didn't actually ride it but nested in the upper levels (even the airbox), and the lower, like the fan/stator was the latrine :D

No love for the '85's?!

First lesson for the :newb:, while the '85 is technically a NB50M the only noticeable difference is a 2-bolt intake on its AF05E motor.

Greetings:

2 other '85-only "Features" are the absence of a kickstarter lever and a fixed-rate oil pump. (No throttle control...)
I strongly suspect some block porting differences besides the manifold 2-bolt port. The '86es are reportedly faster by quite a bit.

Yeah the 86's are faster and when they restricted the 87's, the model fadded away fast. I was very lucky to find this one after searching for a long while on the east coast after finding the slow one, (87) first. But I love the look of both years mind you... Originally I was looking for the white and blue 86' model and was able to find the black only. Some day I would still like to have that one too... :coolcruise:

Also the decals are different on the 85's, I worked for Honda for ten years, no newbie here with Honda's, that's for sure. Sucks that a lot of parts have become very scarce for these beautiful scooters!!! Though there is hope with the Vision across the pond! I def' want to get that tail light for mine for sure! :coolcruise:

Although I own an 86'Aero, and owned and sold an 87' Aero, my first love was my 1985 Honda NQ50 Spree, Black with purple stickers, my good friend had the Red one with white stickers...

Lol! Where did you live? I moved fours times in that area, the brush fire was horrifying coming down the hill, never been near anything like that before. I had to move one of those times for that one! ... :coolcruise:
