Stupidity, if left to it's own devices, is almost always self correcting.

the helmet issue will be debated and disputed for the rest of time........it is more likely to kill you when you wreck a bike without having a helmet on your head....FACT....what would be your reaction if the government started requiring helmets to be worn while operating cars and trucks......it would save lives....would you participate willingly?....or would you resist because of your perceived right.....like Bill France Jr. said,...."Have at it, boys"

At least in a car you have a protective shield around you, where on a bike you have nothing between your head and disaster. Modern medicine can fix almost all of your body parts when broken EXCEPT your brain, which the helmet protects. I feel if you don't want to wear a helmet, fine but don't expect me and all the rest of the tax payers to support you vegetable * for as long as you live after you pound your head on the pavement or into a pole or a car. Oh and don't expect any insurance company to insure you without a helmet either, cause it is not gonna happen.

Like I said "Stupidity, if left to it's own devices, is almost always self correcting."

or said another way:

"In Nature there is only one capital crime. That is stupidity. There is only one sentence for this crime. DEATH!!!! Sentence is usually carried out immediately, there is no appeal."

d*** right!

I don't like the state telling me what I have to do to keep safe.

I don't like seatbelt laws either.

Just gives "the Man" more ways to f*** with me.

Too bad bro, we will miss you if something happens......

Agreed, plenty of freedoms are exploited but this one I just cant agree on.

Awhile ago you posted some road rash on Mrs Trafficjams what if..... that was on a CRUCIAL body part like the head???

Take your life in your own hands and make a good choice for you and your family.

Or, just blow me off that's cool It's OK I'm not trying to tell your how to live just hoping I might make you think.

BTW, I used to smoke It took me years to quit. I just hope I am OK.

I do wear helmet when riding 95% of the time.
I always wear my seat belt in the car too.

I just don't think there need to be laws to MAKE me.

Michigan currently has no moped/helmet laws, and I hope it stays that way.

I am glad you stopped smoking
Cigarettes kill way more people than head injuries from non-helmet wearing cyclist.
Why doesn't the government outlaw tobacco?

i agree. It seems like they should force us to wear helmets while doing other activities as well. Why don't they just make it a law that i have to wear arm floaties while swimming?

Because you can swim without arm floaties but you can not repair a smashed brain, no one can.

Good example. :thumbwink:

Why stop at helmets?

Should a rider be required to wear kevlar pants, knee & elbow pads, and leather jacket too?

Maybe just outlaw 2 wheeled vehicles in general because they are too dangerous. :jack:

Oh yeah and guns too.......take those away from people.....far too dangerous.

If you drown....there is no repairing that either.
