Update! It's an Elite 150 apparently.

Update! It's an Elite 150 apparently.

Post by adios1344 »

Hello,
My friend told me that he wants to get rid of his Honda Elite 250. I know nothing about the year, and have never seen it. All I know is that it needs new rings, and that it's not in great condition. Is there anything I should know? Also I am picking it up for $100-$150.

Update: Apparently it's an elite 150. Supposed to check it out today.

The Elite 150 was made in 1985 and 1987, while the Elite 150 D or Deluxe was made in 1985 and 1986

How can I tell whether or not it's a D? I'm hoping to check it out tomorrow after work.

I thought 4t was referring to 4stroke.

And in the VIN is there anything that will jump out to me? Or will I have no look it up on Google?

It wont jump at you but the D's headlight does pop up. The regular 150 just has the exposed headlight.

I saw on the front it did say Elite Deluxe. It is wrecked, there are hardly any plastics on it. And it needs rings. But for $100 it may be a fair deal. A few of the plastics are off, but I think there isn't much more than that. Here's a pic.

Looks like front end damage with the angle of the forks. How many parts are still available? That $100 bike could easily turn into a $600 bike to get on the road again and even more to make it look good.

Everything works on it. It rides fine. Get's up to speed, but now that the rings aren't good, he doesn't want to risk scoring the cylinder. I'm thinking about getting it and using it as an ongoing project. Plus, once it's nice again it'll be pretty sick. Like I said, I don't care about if the body panels are mismatching. (The mismatching body panels is actually very amusing in my opinion) But I definitely do not plan keeping it mismatching. However, I do not believe the forks are bent, it's in very good mechanical condition, but the plastics are *.

It does have a title. A salvage title, but a title nonetheless.

Oh, with the additional details, I say congrats on a well bought project.
