Security and your Scooter.

So, I now live in an apartment complex with no storage. My inlaws are bringing me my '73 ST90 this coming weekend and I would like to get a cable/chain with a lock to secure it to a post behind my car.

So the question is (Bear), where would be a good place to pick up a 10' chain/cable that will be strong enough for a potential thief to try and abscond with my bike.

I say Bear, because he is resourceful and would know where to get something like this.

Man! I was in NY a few weeks ago. You should see the chains and locks they string around the bikes. I'll see if I can find a picture.

Get something Krytonite. They claim they will pay if someone can break it. Of course you must provide a broken lock/cable and a police report, fingerprints, dna, description, age, weight, sex, race, etc, etc..... :werd:

Chains are good, but someone could run off with parts. Bicycle locker can hold your cycle, and some other goodies. Or we could mod a dumpster, and no one would be curious what's inside :D

That is cool never seen one of those. The next ? Is would they let him have something like that. The complex I lived at for a while would not let me have some thing like that.

Honestly the best security is a garage and good insurance. Chains and locks can easily be cut.

True but the Lock Alarms make major noise and that is one thing thieves do not stay around to deal with.

I like this one because of the motion alarm in it besides the cut the cable feature. You move it and it screams at 110 db. The others scream if you cut the cable. I remember a chain that was supposedly uncutable because it was so hard but can't find the link anymore.

Marty, I do not own a 44 magnum except for a Ruger Carbine. My pistol is a 41 Magnum, like that would make a difference to the target. :ndance:
